To be able to learn to drive you will need to make sure you have a provisional UK driving licence. You can apply for you provisional licence on the government website. We ask that all students are able to speak and understand English to a high level as instruction will be in English. Good communication between student and instructor is the key to success.

The obvious next step would be to book your first lesson. Book your first driving lesson with GRID Driving School and get behind the wheel of a car with one of our expert driving instructors. Our lessons take place locally in areas across Glasgow.

You can book your first lesson online today. Or alternatively you can phone one of our fantastic driving instructors and arrange an introductory lesson with them! Be sure to check out our range of brilliant offers for beginners!

We recommend that you begin familiarising yourself with the Highway Code as early as possible will help you with your driving but also help prepare you for the driving theory assessment.

There are lots of apps and literature dedicated to the UK Theory Test. Students of GRID Driving School will be given access to Theory Test Pro which covers every aspect of the theory assessment. Please ask your instructor for more details.

Once you are confident with passing your theory test, then go ahead and book your theory assessment with you local test centre today. If you are consistently passing mock tests comfortably and feel you are ready to sit your driving theory test then we encourage you to get it booked as soon as possible so it won’t hold you back later.

After you’ve got all that sorted the next step would be to get yourself ready for the practical assessment.
